Under The Tide-The Threat of The Ocean  , Zhao Yan

The overarching theme of my graduation project is "water," exploring its destructive aspect in the human world. I have created a story backdrop and named it "Beneath the Tide."

Water, the source of life, constitutes 70% of the human body. The birth and growth of all living beings are intimately tied to water. We can say that we live within water, yet we also seek shelter from rain, even though rain is a part of water. Why do we need to seek refuge? Imagine a future day when water submerges the entire human society. Faced with the power of nature, how will humanity respond? The answer may be that humans are unable to change the environment and can only continue to live or gradually perish beneath the tides.

In the world beneath the tides, contrasting the mystery of life's origin, there lies an unfathomable darkness within the depths of the ocean, unknown to anyone. Relying on marine technology, humans once became the dominant species. However, disasters from the ocean also serve as a reminder for humans to maintain a sense of awe towards nature. Border closures, widespread ruins, and the persistent threat from the sea continue to cast an uncertain future for humanity. The technologies derived from the ocean bring unparalleled prosperity, but the threats from the ocean gradually erode certain prosperity. This is the story of "Beneath the Tide."
